This makes me think of my best friend in Virginia whom I left when I moved...It's about loving someone who is away and the longing to see them again. It's also about not wanting to leave your love. I love this song and this band...they deserve to be bigger then they are...they are right up there with Barenaked Ladies
This is 'our' song, I was a rover in my younger years and he was my anchor. He lived in Boston and I was in Buffalo - this song was just us. It carried us through many long distance trips to see one other. The best band!

"Can we keep the curtains drawn?" he tries to prolong his stay by pretending it's not dawn yet. he asks if he comes back crippled, will she still love him. he keeps asking if she'll still love him even though he's a sailor
this was 'our song' .. it makes me cry now everytime i hear it. it means to much to me, even now hes gone. we lived far away, and he let go because of the distance. but i still listen to this song because it reminds me of him. i love this song. great song.
