Country Roads Lyrics
Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growing like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place where I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
All my memories gathered 'round her
Miner's lady stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
(repeat chorus)
I hear her voice in the morning hour she calls me
Radio reminds me of my home far away
Driving on the road I get a feeling that I
should have been home yesterday, yesterday
(repeat chorus)
Take me home, country roads
Take me home, yeah country roads
Take me home
Country roads, yeah
Yeay! Yeay! Yeay! Yeay! Whoo!
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growing like a breeze
To the place where I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
Miner's lady stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
Radio reminds me of my home far away
Driving on the road I get a feeling that I
should have been home yesterday, yesterday
Take me home, yeah country roads
Take me home
Country roads, yeah

Being from West Virginia, I loved this song in it's original form well enough. But this cover is just awesome.
I
I recently visited a friend in WV and we sang this song the whole way. I love it!
I have loved John Denver because of this song, though I am from Philippines his song had spaces in some of Filipinos' hearts., just like me.
A nice funky cover!
