I love AFI, davey is a lyrical genius and his voice is beautiful. But I must say, w/out the rest of the band i dont think he would be as far as he is. Very true allstar, this is NOT an afi song, its misfits, and i dont believe afi EVER did a cover, but I could possibly be wrong, I'll hafta look that up.
afi did a cover of this for sure. a friend of mine burned it on a cd for me, and it's definitely afi doing a cover of the misfits' "last caress."
i like afi's cover of this song more than the original. you should check both versions out. be careful though...this psychotic song usually gets stuck in people's head for weeks at a time..

i agree afi is an AWESOME band. but i definitly wouldnt say this song is better than the original. i mean....the misfits created the song! the misfits are afi's major influence in their style! i am sure no member of afi would want you to say that their version was better than the misfits. i dont know. they are 2 kick ass bands...but i their would be no afi if it werent for the misfits

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy AFI's music, but a song can only be covered so many times. Even Metallica did a cover of this.
