This song makes me so sad when I hear it. I remember listening to my mom's old tapes on our occassional family road trips and tearing everytime I heard it.

I absolutely love this song, and it makes me cry when I hear it. Just the emotion in his voice, you can tell that he is so sad. The lyrics are just full of sadness. He wants to go back home from the war, and he never gets letters from anyone, and he thinks he's been forgotten, but he still wants to go back home. Because home is where the heart is.
