Holiday Road Lyrics
I found out long ago
It's a long way down the holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Take a ride on the West Coast kick
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
I found out long ago
It's a long way down the holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
It's a long way down the holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Take a ride on the West Coast kick
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
It's a long way down the holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road

It reminds me of my youth, a fun time without a care in the world. This is one of the most infectious songs I've ever heard, you can't help but smile when listening to it. Thanks Lindsay!!
I love this song. Found out about it from one of the "Vacation" movies. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it on any CDs or any websites. Anyone know where I can get this song?
I like this song, but why in the hell isn't 'Time Bomb Town' listed? IT RULES!!!
It's a song about taking a vacation. It was featured in National Lampoon's "Vacation".
The song is just awesome, yet the lyrics are so simple.
I was brought back to this song after seeing Jimmy Fallon and Rashida Jones peform this with the Roots. They actually did a good performance of it.
I thought this song was kick ass lol
It's about going on a vacation with your family! My 2nd favorite 1983 song right behind "Every Breath You Take" by the Police!
Greatest vacation song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While it's forever associated with the National Lampoon's Vacation movie - most people would consider this to be a fun-loving song.... but they're wrong.
The clue is actually in the official music video of the song - which involves Lindsey Buckingham trapped in a dark office with other workers and barred in. It's in this ironic context that the meaning of what the "Holiday Road" actually is that it begins to make sense.... and it's pretty bleak.
"I found out long ago. It's a long way down the Holiday Road"
What exactly is "it" down the Holiday road that is being referred to? It's intentionally vague... but look at the music video seems to suggest that the Holiday Road is your working life. After all, you don't get to start having fun until you arrive at your destination - but the "Holiday Road" is your dreary day-to-day work that seems to go on forever.
