Cover art for One Shot Juanita lyrics by Starflyer 59

This is easily one of the saddest songs I have ever heard. It's so painfully beautiful (if that makes any sense).

The lyrics seem fairly straightforward. "The past life" (his relationship with this girl) wasn't good and he feels he's better off without her. What she has done (and continues to do) to him has hurt him emotionally ("stop stabbing my heart").

If you listen close toward the end of the 2:30+ instrumental part to end the song, you can hear Jason Martin say (not sing) "I wrote you this letter ... just to say ... I love you." So it seems he still has feelings for her.

An overall summary: He was hurt by this girl (possibly by her cheating on Jason with another guy and then leaving Jason for this other guy). Jason is hurt and upset, but he still loves the girl.

Also, I think "One Shot Juanita" was the nickname of a girl that Jason Martin (and former SF59 bassist Jeff Cloud) went to school with.
