Ça Plane Pour Moi Lyrics
Wam! Bam!
Mon chat, splatch
Gît sur mon lit
A bouffé sa langue
En buvant dans mon whisky
Quant à moi
Peu dormi, vidé, brimé
J'ai dû dormir dans la gouttière
Où j'ai eu un flash
Hou! Hou! Hou! Hou!
En quatre couleurs
Allez hop!
Un matin
Une louloute est v'nue chez-moi
Poupée de Cellophane
Cheveux chinois
Un sparadrap
Une gueule de bois
A bu ma bière
Dans un grand verre
En caoutchouc
Hou! Hou! Hou! Hou!
Comme un indien dans son igloo
Ça plane pour moi
Ça plane pour moi
Ça plane pour moi moi moi moi moi
Ça plane pour moi
Hou! Hou! Hou! Hou!
Ça plane pour moi
Allez hop! La nana
Quel panard!
Quelle vibration!
De s'envoyer
Sur le paillasson
Limée, ruinée, vidée, comblée
"You are the king of the divan!"
Qu'elle me dit en passant houhouhouhou
I am the king of the divan
Ça plane pour moi
Allez hop t'occupes t'inquiètes
Touche pas ma planète
It's not today que le ciel me tombera
Sur la tête
Et que la colle me manquera
Hou hou hou hou
Ça plane pour moi
Allez hop ma nana s'est tirée, s'est barrée
Enfin c'est marre, a tout cassé
l'évier, le bar me laissant seul
Comme un grand connard, houhouhouhou
Le pied dans le plat
Ça plane pour moi
Mon chat, splatch
Gît sur mon lit
A bouffé sa langue
En buvant dans mon whisky

Peu dormi, vidé, brimé

"The main hook in particular, is ambiguous: "Ça plane pour moi" means "It is gliding for me", which could imply that having his head in the clouds, or possibly being high on drugs, works for him. Other suggestions are "It's all working out for me", "This works for me", "This plan's for me", "Everything's cool/groovy for me" or more loosely, "Things are going great" or even "I'm on cloud nine". The basic theme is a chaotic, drunken sexual encounter with a girl, told in retrospect."

The link also shows a different translation of the lyrics, but states that it's difficult to be precise. Excellent song.
@EuphoricShots The narrator sniffs glue, as the fourth verse suggests ("et que la colle me manquera" = "until I'm running out of glue").

Hou! Hou! Hou! Hou! I love this song!
I heard it on the British Wanadoo advert (either Wanadoo or some other company flogging broadband). It's the one with the guy parachuting through the air on a board.
Anyway, the songs probably about a party, or after the party or something. The babelfish translation isn't exactly clear (That planes for me? Huh?!)
Here's a literal translation, but it loses something in the translations. The translation fails to convey the puns.
Wham bang my cat Splash sits on my bed he bit his Tongue while drinking all my whysky As for me, didn't sleep, tired, battered I finally slept in the gutter Where I had a vision Ouh ouh ouh ouh in four colours
(Interjection) One morning a girl came to my house Cellophane doll, chinese hair Band-aid, hang over Has drunk my beer in a big rubber glass Ouh ouh ouh ouh like an indian in his igloo
I'm feeling good I'm feeling good I'm feeling good, good, good, good I'm feeling good Ouh ouh ouh ouh I'm feeling good
(Interjection) Baby what a thrill, what a vibration To do it on the rug, (they all mean tired) You are the queen of necking, he tells me matter of factly Ouh ouh ouh I am the queen of necking
I'm feeling good I'm feeling good I'm feeling good, good, good, good I'm feeling good Ouh ouh ouh ouh I'm feeling good
(Interjection) Don't worry, don't touch my planet It's not today that the sky is gonna fall on me And that I'm gonna run out of glue Ouh ouh ouh ouh I'm feeling good
(Interjection) My girl left me She had fun, broke everything: the sink, the bar Left me there like a big idiot Ouh ouh ouh ouh with my foot in my mouth
I'm feeling good I'm feeling good I'm feeling good, good, good, good I'm feeling good
I'm feeling good I'm feeling good I'm feeling good, good, good, good I'm feeling good Ouh ouh ouh ouh I'm feeling good (Repeat 2 times)
Sonic Youth does a good cover of this.
hahaha i love this song...i saw it in that mary kate and ashley olson movie...winning london...i didn't really like the movie...but i did like this song! lol
I also saw this song in that movie, in fact I own that movie...yes, I am a dork and a mary-kate and ashley fan...but that's beside the point. This song rocks!
This song bloody rocks, my mate just sent it to me pointing out that I recently would have heard it in a clarks advert (in the uk).... translate it at http://babel.altavista.com the results are quite ... disturbing ;)
ca plane pour moi=that flies for me
This song is ace
I read that the song is a new-wave parody & the title translates roughly to "The Life For Me"
If you like this song you'll also like the Damned's "Jet Boy Jet Girl" which is sang to the exact same tune.
@JeffKaos71 The English version "Jet Boy Jet Girl" was first performed by Elton Motello, who released it in late 1977. The lyrics mention some gay relationship whereas those from the original version do not.
