Kung Fu Fighting Lyrics
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing
They were funky China men from funky Chinatown
They were chopping them up and they were chopping them down
It's an ancient Chineese art and everybody knew their part
From a fainting to a slip and kicking from the hip
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing
There was funky Billy Chin and little Sammy Chung
He said here comes the big boss, lets get it on
We took a bow and made a stand, started swinging with the hand
The sudden motion made me skip now we're into a brand knew trip
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they did it with expert timing
(repeat)..make sure you have expert timing
Kung-fu fighting, had to be fast as lightning
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing
They were chopping them up and they were chopping them down
It's an ancient Chineese art and everybody knew their part
From a fainting to a slip and kicking from the hip
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing
He said here comes the big boss, lets get it on
We took a bow and made a stand, started swinging with the hand
The sudden motion made me skip now we're into a brand knew trip
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they did it with expert timing
Kung-fu fighting, had to be fast as lightning

You are both overlooking the innate beauty of the poetic motif which Mr. Douglas has employed here; the brilliant rhymes of 'fighting', with 'lightning', and, finally and most especially, 'timing'.
Yeh it is a cool song, Reminds me of '70's crime dramas...it's def got that melodramatic thing to it.

Funky^^
The meaning to the song was to make fun of all of the Martial Arts movies and TV shows that suddenly sprang to existence from Bruce Lee and his popularity in that time. (Especially since Bruce made his movies super cheap as a snark to the studio's that would not consider him a true "actor" just because he was oriental!) They even used two of the character's names from his movies! (Funky Billy Chin and Little Sammy Choung) so it's a spoof of a spoof about being RACIST targeted at the very huge midwestern RACIST white community!
So it's like putting a quail into a chicken into a duck into a turkey into a goose! Also because a Black man was doing a song about a yellow man fooling the white man!
If for no other great reason I shall always LOVE this song for playing on the RACISTS! Scotty
