Give Me a Moment Lyrics
Living my summers out in a hotel
Finally found the room to set a spell
Heard things at home were going astray
Won’t you give me a moment, I’ve been away
I heard my name, but didn’t turn around
Waited on the stairs for you to take the elevator down
And down
When I got to my room, I found out
You’ve been a lover, and you’ve been a friend
There’ve been others I never meant
How many witnesses, I couldn’t say
Lord, give me a moment I’ve been away
I’ve been away, I’ve been away
I’ve been away and I’ve been out of my head
First sign of winter, I want you to go
Take nothing with you and never let it show
But leave me alone now, so I can pray
Lord, give me a moment I’ve been away
I’ve been away, I’ve been away
I’ve been away, and I’ve been out of my head
Finally found the room to set a spell
Heard things at home were going astray
Won’t you give me a moment, I’ve been away
Waited on the stairs for you to take the elevator down
And down
You’ve been a lover, and you’ve been a friend
There’ve been others I never meant
How many witnesses, I couldn’t say
Lord, give me a moment I’ve been away
I’ve been away and I’ve been out of my head
Take nothing with you and never let it show
But leave me alone now, so I can pray
Lord, give me a moment I’ve been away
I’ve been away, and I’ve been out of my head

Yet another great song brought to you by the Long Winters..
this song is all about pace for me. The hypnotic pace of the drums makes this one of my favorite Long Winters' tunes.
The drums in the intro are fantastic. Overall a great, and slightly sinister, song.
I think this song is about living with bipolar disorder. During his "summer" (manic stage) he's been running so busy from thing to thing that he finally got a minute to sit down. He's been disconnected from everything he loves, been ignoring people who have been close to him, possibly having affairs (other people he never meant).
During his "winter" (depressive stage) he wants to push everyone away from him.
Both manic and depressive stages leave him feeling disconnected like he's been away and out of his head.
