wow first comment? come on people this is the greatest B-side the Verve have!

Anyway, I believe this song is about how Mr. Ashcroft is "numb" from all the drugs he has taken. "And I want to know, And I want to be, And I want to feel" he wants to know the meaning behind things (I want to know), he has dreams and aspirations (I want to be), he wants to be alive (I want to feel).
