Golden Slumbers Lyrics

Once there was a way to get back homeward.
Once there was a way to get back home.
Sleep pretty darling do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby.
Golden Slumbers fill your eyes,
Smiles awake you when you rise.
Sleep pretty darling do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby.

This is a Beatles cover...and in my opinion, Ben does it better than the boys from Liverpool.

Good cover.

I love that phrase. Golden slumbers. So much lovelier than just saying sweet dreams.

Great song, and I agree, Ben does make it sound much better

I heard this version first, but in my opinion the Beatles do it way better. I think it comes down to the vocals in the end. Still, great cover.

This version is good, but sounds incomplete without going straight into Carry That Weight.

i agree with it sounding incomplete without turning into carry that weight, but i think it plays along with the beautiful and soft sound that ben brings to it.

i think the beatles do this great, but ben really adds a lot of beauty here.

the only reason i like the beatles version more is because of when paul sings the words "golden slumbers," for some reason i just love the way he does it

I really enjoy the cover, but I think the Beatles version is better. Its not so much made better as its just got more depth in my opinion. Because when the beatles made their version of the song, it wasnt prefabricated at all. It was just a studio session where each person played what they thought would be a good part for the song, and they ended up with golden slumbers, and i think that the cover just takes a little bit of the edge off, which could be good in some cases. Both are very good.
