To me this song is about someone who just got dumped but she still loves him. In the beginning she is asking him if he would listen to her if she explained to him the situation. She is saying that it was her fault since she had kept something from the him and eventually he found out and dumped her. For her, his silence has become very violent since he had left her. She is also always thinking about him and she is and will be waiting for him until he comes back to her again.

For me, the song's about a person who loved someone who died, but she never told him that she loved him, and she blames her self.

this song is very meaningful for me... and for me is just about someone who has to go and you couldn't tell that person everything you wanted, you couldn't say how much you love him or her... the bitter thought of letting you go, the sweet though of your warmth embrace

This reminds me of Bitter Virgin in a way.

I just thought I'd note, the last night my boyfriend (now husband) was with me before I got deployed to Iraq, he slept on the couch at my mom's house, and I went back into my bedroom and sang this song and cried myself to sleep. That's what it means to me.
