this song actually isnt about any of that. it's about the post 9-11 feelings people had and how we sugar coat everything (like the way bush never really stated until recently that we were losing the war in iraq). dicky's chastising all of the people who were saying things like "well now I'M gonna go kick bin laden's ass!" and saying that they wont do that, they'll go home and eat dinner and talk about it and everything else that happened just like normal. they wont change anything by being mad. he's basically just showing how we sugar coat everything and then expect it not to hurt as much when we find out the truth.

I think it's about the way society puts priority on things that shouldn't and don't matter that much.
