Getting High Lyrics
I could have found you if I wanted
I wouldn't even have to try
Saved you if I longed it
But you didn't wanna see me by
You were gettin' high
You were gettin' high
I could have found you if I wanted
Wouldn't even have to try
Saved you if I'd longed it
You didn't wanna see me by
You were gettin' high
Gettin high
I could astound you if I wanted
Wouldn't even have to try
Saved you if I longed it
But you didn't wanna see me by
You were gettin' high
You were gettin' high
I wouldn't even have to try
Saved you if I longed it
But you didn't wanna see me by
You were gettin' high
You were gettin' high
I could have found you if I wanted
Wouldn't even have to try
Saved you if I'd longed it
You didn't wanna see me by
You were gettin' high
Gettin high
I could astound you if I wanted
Wouldn't even have to try
Saved you if I longed it
But you didn't wanna see me by
You were gettin' high
You were gettin' high

Great opener for an album love that metal-rock guitar playing by Aziz. Yeh the lyrics are having a pop at John Squire saying he was too busy Getting High to care bout their problems
this song was played by stone roses ... so what is it doing here?
(and I do KNOW that Ian Brown was in this band)
It's an Ian Brown tune. Its the opening track on the Golden Gaze Album.
who would have thought Squire fails with out Ian and Ian does nearly as well with out John S.
The Seahorses didn't do it for me.........damn shame i do love John's playing.
Anti drug song i'd guess......play on Oasis, Champainge?
It reminds me of the song by Oasis, Wonderwall, where they say, 'maybe ur gonna be the one that saves me'- this may be a reply to that, '(could have) saved u if I longed, but u didn't want a see me by, u were getting high'. I like the part when he says astound u if i wanted,, wudn't even have to try.
Maybe, I can definately see how well it can go as the counter to Champagne Supernovas 'Where were you while we were getting high'
Hes basically saying 'I couldve come over and got high but I diddnt' An anti-drug message definitely
yes i agree with 'King of Some Island', I saw Ian Brown on his last tour of Australia, He sounded terrible live, but i guess he was never the greatest voice, though his lyrics are gold.
