Begging You Lyrics
I'm begging you
The fly on the coachwheel told me that he got it
And he knew what to do with it, everybody saw it
Saw the dust that he made
King bee in a frenzy, ready to blow
Got the horn good to go, wait, oh his sting's all gone
Now he's begging you, begging you
Here is a warning, the sky will divide
Since I took off the lid, no, there's nowhere to hide
Now I'm begging you, begging you
This is a mystery not to be solved
But be minded, like minded, I'm gone, still I'm with you
I'm begging you, begging you
Give it over, give it over
Give it over, give it over
Give it over, give it over
Give it over, give it over
Yeah I'm begging you (I'm begging you)
Give it over, give it over
Give it over
Yeah, I'm begging you, I'm begging you
Weigh it and say it, is it all in a name
Does it call you or maul you and drive you insane
Can it make you remember, time is a place
How I'm begging you, I'm begging you
The fly on the coachwheel told me that he got it
And he knew what to do with it, everybody saw it
Saw the dust that he made
Make all the dust that you can
Make all the dust that you can
King bee in a frenzy, ready to blow
The way you say it, is it all in a name?
'Cause he'll call you, he'll maul you, and drive you insane
and he'll make you remember, time is in place, how I fell for you.
I'm Begging you.
The god of the whole tree told me that he got it
and he knew what to do with it everybody saw it,
saw the cross that he made, (make all the dust that/pray for the cross cause) you can.

You forgot the last two verses (my interpretation follows)
The way you say it, is it all in a name? 'Cause he'll call you, he'll maul you, and drive you insane and he'll make you remember, time is in place, how I fell for you. I'm Begging you.
The god of the whole tree told me that he got it and he knew what to do with it everybody saw it, saw the cross that he made, (make all the dust that/pray for the cross cause) you can. (make all the dust that/pray for the cross cause) you can.
King bee in a frenzy, ready to blow......
Clearly its a coke/messiah song. Not the first, either.
U2 ripped off the structure of this song with Discotheque. Begging You's so cacophonus, but it still holds together really well.
Wow this is the heaviest song they've ever done. It rocks!
Good point madchester, never thought of that. It is the same song.
For me this song was about doing some lines - "dust", "ready to blow", "his stings all gone Now he's begging you, begging you" is all about coke and wanting to do more. "Make all the dust that you can."
Then, there is a bit of imagery about Jesus with the sky dividing and being gone but still with you...
But mostly the frantic intense nature of the song induces the speed feeling of doing some dust.
I have no idea what the fly on the coachwheel is about.
So, given their histories I'd say Brown contributed the Jesus imagery and Squire had the dust parts.
no, begging you is begging you, discotheque is discotheque, wtf are you on about, how they hell are they the same song, they hardly sound the same, and U2 and the roses are my two fav bands
Went to see primal scream in Newcastle about 6 month ago. Met the full band in a club after an amazing gig. Mani was playing this along with other roses tunes(part of a shit hot dj set!) I was bustin shapes when bobby gillespie wanders in. One of the best nights of me life and a crackin stomper of a song. Love it. Tis a bit similar to discoteque but it's far superior.
