In Fear Of Fear Lyrics
You fear the lesson
And fear to walk
And fear to pass on
Your fear to talk
The teacher was feared
Your parents too
Then you became
The fear of you
Fear
Look to yourself
Climb over the wall
And see behind
That you're not so small
Then you won't blame fear
When competing's too much
As you fall on your back
As you fail to touch
Fear
And I say to you
When your fear is strong
When you fear your life
Then your fear is wrong
Set free your past
So shredding the skin
Then you won't fear
The fear of sin
Fear
And fear to walk
And fear to pass on
Your fear to talk
Your parents too
Then you became
The fear of you
Climb over the wall
And see behind
That you're not so small
Then you won't blame fear
When competing's too much
As you fall on your back
As you fail to touch
When your fear is strong
When you fear your life
Then your fear is wrong
Set free your past
So shredding the skin
Then you won't fear
The fear of sin

I cant belive no one commented this!
...but then again, it's obviously about setting yourself from fear, especially the fears that have been passed from generation to generation.
Yeah I Love this song. But the reason no one has commented, is becuase theyre all "emo" "punkrockers" posting on taking back sunday and fall out boy's songs

Nobody listens to Fall Out Boy anymore. I think they broke up or died or something. I dunno'. Only 12-year-old's listen to them anymore, actually.

And all the Punks turned into Indies, which is worse, because they have the punk ideals but lost all their political consciousness. Now they all have money and a vast amount of apathy for everything and everyone.

It is highly advised that you beat the shit out of them, as they are what Emo's were in 2002.

But flannel and grunge and original punk took off again. Isn't that fancy?
Of course, you, by now, would already know this, as you (hopefully) are alive as over July 27, 2009. So please don't hurt me.

move on.
Basically, this song is about being afraid of just one thing, albeit a major thing. This one thing affects you, if you don't watch out for it, to the point where you have a fear for everything and everyone.
That's my own interpretation, but it could also be seen as not acting on your social appearance (e.g. dressing as a goth), and how this limits who and what you are.
pretty much pink floyd the wall all over again. What we have here is some one telling themselves to stop fearing fear and pain and just roll with it.
