Tell Her No Lyrics
And if she should tell you "come closer"
And if she tempts you with her charms
Tell her no no no no no-no-no-no
No no no no no-no-no-no
No no no no no
Don't hurt me now for her love belongs to me
And if she should tell you "I love you"
And if she tempts you with her charms
Tell her no no no no no-no-no-no
No no no no no-no-no-no
(don't take her love for your arms)
No no no no no
Don't hurt me now for her love belongs to me
I know she's the kind of girl
Who'd throw my love away
But I still love her so
Don't hurt me now, don't hurt me now
If she tells you "I love you"
Just remember she said that to me
Tell her no no no no no-no-no-no
No no no no no-no-no-no
(don't take her love from my arms)
No no no no no
Don't leave me now for her love belongs to me
And if she tempts you with her charms
No no no no no-no-no-no
No no no no no
Don't hurt me now for her love belongs to me
And if she tempts you with her charms
No no no no no-no-no-no
(don't take her love for your arms)
No no no no no
Don't hurt me now for her love belongs to me
Who'd throw my love away
But I still love her so
Don't hurt me now, don't hurt me now
Just remember she said that to me
No no no no no-no-no-no
(don't take her love from my arms)
No no no no no
Don't leave me now for her love belongs to me

She's obviously a cheatin' woman.
...and he is a fool.
favorite zombies song
One of the best songs about insecurity that has ever been written. It's so well sung (by Colin Blunstone) you don't immediately think he's a chump, you feel his "pain" because we've all been in a "relationship" with someone (at least once) that was so hot & such a flirt your confidence level plummets.
"If she should tell you 'I love you' Just remember she said that to me,"
That part of the song makes me feel like it's almost a warning to someone else to point out that while he was tossed aside, she'll most likely toss aside this other guy, and there's a part of him that doesn't want anyone else to be hurt by the girl. A defeated plea with a tinge of trying to help someone else avoid the pain he is in!
This has one of my favorite opening bits in any song.
I wonder, since both this song and "She's not there" were written by the same guy-- are both songs about the same girl? If so, I think it's another comment on what it's like to be in a relationship with someone who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder... the borderline personality frequently abandons a relationship, (unprovoked by anything other than their OWN asshat behavior--leaving the partner completely stiffed), and IMMEDIATELY STARTS (or might have already started) seducing someone new to replace the abandoned partner.... At least until the BBPD person eventually comes back.
This song is a warning to anyone, this girl will break your heart. Not in the vein of helping but in the hope that rejecting her would send her back to him. Let's be real. What guy is gonna reject someone on the request of a loser guy? The pain of losing her is this desperate...been there?
God, reminds me of my boyfriend, who could have any girl he wants, but who I am so in love with.
