Waiting (Reprise) Lyrics

Well there ain't no point in moving on
Until you've got somewhere to go
And the road that I have walked upon
Well it filled my pockets
And emptied out my soul

All those insecurities
That have held me down for so long
I can't say I've found a cure for these
But at least I know them
So they're not so strong

You look for your dreams in heaven
But what the hell are you supposed to do
When they come true?

Well there's one year of my life in the songs
And some of them are about you
Now I know there's no way I can write those wrongs
Believe me
I would not lie you've hurt my pride
And I guess there's a road without you

But you once said
There's a way back for every man
So here I am
Don't people change, here I am
Is it too late to try again

What mix of emotions in just two and a half minutes of music.

Exasperation (here i am!), wisdom from life (the road that I have walked upon... all those insecurities...) and taking a look at genuine look at yourself, healing pain and hope (there's a road without you) honesty about the two sided nature of relationships (you've hurt my pride) and mostly, love.

Like he's saying "i've done all you ask, all you wanted, I've proven my love for you, but I'm tired of "waiting"".

Eloquent, sad, and I think ultimately hopeful song, whether the other person comes back like they should or not.

Well I’m so disappointed not to see any post on this great song!! I guess it is about Him, it is his own autobiography, he achieved his dreams in “Faith” and filled his pockets, but later on he had problem writing his second album after the great success of “Faith” I guess he was so stressed ...

Not sure if this was written about his feelings for Brad Branson, photographer and friend of Kathys. (Brad also took the photos for this album and for "Older" so don;t really think it was him - not sure) he was dating for 3 years until 1987, or for the french guy Tony who he dated from 1987 until 1989.
