Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get (gotta get up)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get (gotta get up)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down

Gotta get up to get down (ooh-ooh, baby, baby)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down (ooh-ooh, baby, baby)
Gotta get up to get down (oh yeah)
Gotta get up to get down (ooh-ooh, baby, baby)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down (ooh-ooh, baby, baby)
Gotta get up to get down

Looking for some education
Made my way into the night
All that bullshit conversation
Baby, can't you read the signs?

I won't bore you with the details, baby
I don't even wanna waste your time
Let's just say that maybe
You could help to ease my mind
Baby, I ain't Mr. Right

But if you're looking for fastlove
If that's love in your eyes
It's more than enough
Had some bad love
So fast love is all that I've got on my mind

Ooh-ooh, baby, baby
Ooh, yeah, yeah
Ooh-ooh, baby, baby
What's there to think about, baby?
Ooh-ooh, baby, baby
Hey, baby, oh yeah
Ooh-ooh, baby, baby

Looking for some affirmation
Made my way into the sun
My friends got their ladies
They're all having babies
But I just wanna have some fun

I won't bore you with the details, baby
Gonna get there in your own sweet time
Let's just say that maybe
You could help to ease my mind
Baby, I ain't Mr. Right

But if you're looking for fastlove
That's love in your eyes
It's more than enough
Had some bad love
So fast love is all that I've got on my mind

Ooh-ooh, baby, baby
Ooh, yeah, yeah
Ooh-ooh, baby, baby
Yeah, what's there to think about, baby?
Ooh-ooh, baby, baby
Get yourself some lessons in love
Ooh-ooh, baby, baby

Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down (so close)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down (taste it now, baby)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down (so close)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down

In the absence of security
I made my way into the night
Stupid Cupid keeps on calling me (stupid Cupid keeps on calling me)
But I see loving in his eyes
I miss my baby (oh yeah)
I miss my baby (tonight)
So why don't we make a little room in my BMW, babe?
Searching for some peace of mind
Hey, I'll help you find it
I do believe that we are practicing the same religion

Oh, you really oughta get up now
That's right (that's right)
Oh, you really oughta get up

Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down (oh yeah)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down (oh yeah)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down (oh yeah)
Gotta get up to get down
Gotta get up to get down
Looking for some affirmation (gotta get up, get down)
Gotta get up, get down
Gotta get up, get down
Gotta get up, get down
Gotta get up, get down
Gotta get up, get down
Gotta get up, get down

Really, I didn't know there was a II!!!?? One of my favourites upbeat tracks ever! Of course it's about casual sex, but it's still so well written that it's just exquisite! I adore the "so why don't we make a little room in my BMW...." And the "I do believe that we are practising the same religion"...I even used to quote that! haha And the "I miss my baby..." The guy has physical needs, but still can't get that person out of mind, like happens to everyone who isn't over someone so important to us! :'(

I lOVE this song! Just so funky!

Honestly I think it's about not wanting all of the emotional crap in a relationship. What he wants is just a pure physical relationship

this song is an absolute classic....it's not so well known though so some dont really know about it...but yeah, it's str8 forward, a guy was in a committed relationship, didn’t work out and now he just wants to not worry about love (and have a good ol time) – like lots of people who come out of a failed relationship, he's looking for a shallow escape from his heartbreak. classic lines include "in the absence of security, I made my way into the night" and "I miss my baby, tonight / so why don’t we make a little room in my BMW" and of course "had some bad love / so fast love is all that's on my mind". i love how it also sounds like he's trying to recruit someone else and save that person from the heartache and complexity of relationships.

The song is an amazing song!! The song is clearly about his sexuality "i do believe that we are practicing the same religion". He wants fast love, he just wants sex wherever whenever with whomever. "make a little room in my BMW babe".. It's pretty obvious. The whole albums about change, and more importantly accepting change.

This song is pretty funky. It made me think twice about ol' boy, George. Funkier than I would have thought he was capable of. Its pretty straightforward. Some people don't want to chat about the weather, or what's on tv, or what they did at work. Some people just want to look someone else in the eye and know that they're wanted and accepted.

Of course part of this song is about how we fill our emotional void with physical experiences. And thats a defense mechanism, and sometimes it's not all bad. Sometimes it's the medicine you need. Don't cry about the girl you loved who dumped you for no reason. Go have a fling with one who likes you, don't complicate things unless the need to be. Get yourself a lesson in love. I can dig it.

inlieu..i'm not sure G. Mikey is exactly the marrying type.. ;)snurkle

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
