This song I take it is trying to emphasize how the "Heroes" of the past are just forgotten and somehow that means we are losing our spiritual belief and treading towards, well material belief.
Great song though, I LOVE the intro, This and Tearing Down the World have great ones. But for lyrics Legion of the Damned is my favorite!
