That's Alright Lyrics
Meet me down by the railway station
I've been awaiting... I'm through waiting for youT
The train sings the same kind of blues
Well I don't know why I always trusted
Sometimes I think I must have....I must have been crazy
Crazy to wait on you baby
I turned around and got pushed down, baby
Now I decided yesterday that I would leave you
I'm alright.........
CHORUS:
Please...I've been takin' my time
You know, it's been on my mind
I hope you find a love
Your own designs of love
That's alright.....
That's alright
I believe....I believe that I know you
But we've been a long time,
and now I've got to show you that I...
Well, I never did beleive in time
You know...changin' anybody's mind
Now I can't define love like it should be
That's alright....
That's alright....
(repeat chorus)
I've been awaiting... I'm through waiting for youT
The train sings the same kind of blues
Sometimes I think I must have....I must have been crazy
Crazy to wait on you baby
Now I decided yesterday that I would leave you
I'm alright.........
Please...I've been takin' my time
You know, it's been on my mind
I hope you find a love
Your own designs of love
That's alright.....
That's alright
But we've been a long time,
and now I've got to show you that I...
Well, I never did beleive in time
You know...changin' anybody's mind
That's alright....
That's alright....

What the HELL. How does this song have no comments?! It has to be one of my all-time favorites and one of Stevie's best too, lyrically and vocally. There's a lot of weariness here and it's really heartbreaking; what used to be reliable and constant in her life is failing her-- her trust in him, her ideas of what love is, etc. and now their relationship is over, she's done with it. Hopefully I'm not the only one who finds this song amazing!
yes, this is one of the most fantastic stevie nicks songs ever released. so straightforward, but the music is so catchy you have no idea how raw her lyrics are.
I have never found Stevie's comments about this one but I think that this song is like an early version of "Landslide". But while in "Landslide" she's singing that she decides to give both music and Lindsley second chance, in "That's Alright" she's singing that she wants to give up it all. But these are only my speculations.
