Your street is littered with houses, of people that|You've never met|Names that you would thought you'd remember|But knew you'd always forget|Memories stripped from the past|The questions that never got asked|Like a broken down car in an old parking lot|Means nothing at all but it's that you got|And the moment is slippin' away|The answers you give aren't that great|It's like all the you do it's just old and they're new|And they're lost||[Piping solo]||All of your mistresses lied|To save your relationships, save you from time|When you slip into knowing that nothing is going to|Kill you faster than life|In the end you're just moments away|From the chances you thought you might take|It's like all that you do is just old and then new and|Then lost|And the words that you tried hard to say get caught in||The noose that you make|It's like all that you do is just old and then new and|Then lost||In the end you're just moments away from the chances|You thought you might take|It's like all that you do is just old and then new and|Then lost (x3)||[Guitar solo]||( all that you are is not, all that you do's forgot,|Hold on to what you got (x2)||In the end you're just moments away from the chances|You thought you might take|It's like all that you do is just old and then new and|Then lost|Your street is littered with houses of people that|You've never met|Names that you thought you'd remember|But knew that you'd always forget|All that you are is not, all that you was forgot hold|On to what you got (x3)|Hold on to what you got (x4)|

The streets are littered with thousands, of people that you've never met, names that you thought you'd remember, knew you'd always forget, memories stripped from the past, the questions that never got asked, like a broken down car in an old parking lot, means nothing at all but it's that you got, and the moment is slippin' away, the answers you give aren't that great, it's like all the you do it's just old and they're new and they're lost

    [piping solo]

All of your mistresses lied, to save your relationships save you from time when you slip into knowing that nothing is going to kill you faster than life, in the end you're just moments away from the chances you thought you might take, it's like all that you do it just old and they're new and they're lost

and the words that you tried hard to say, get caught in the noose that you made it's like all that you do is just old and they're new and they're lost

In the end you're just moments away, from the chances you thought you might take, it's like all that you do is just old and they're new and they're lost
just old and they're new and they're lost just old and they're new and they're lost

    [guitar solo]

All that you are is not all that you forgot hold on to what you got, All that you are is not all that you forgot hold on to what you got in the end you're just moments, away from the chances you thought you might take it's like that all you do is just old and they're new and they're lost

the street is littered with thousands of people that you've never met names that you thought you'd remember knew that you'd always forget

All that you are is not All that you was forgot Hold on to what you got

All that you are is not All that you was forgot Hold on to what you got

All that you are is not All that you was forgot Hold on to what you got

Hold on to what you got Hold on to what you got Hold on to what you got Hold on to what you got

He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
