Take a little, take a little nip.
Take a little sip, take a little more.
Spread icing nice and thick between the layers.
Ooh let it drip down the sides. Who cares?
Done with the batter.

I am watching it drip down the sides.
(If you want a better batter, better beat it harder)
I am watching it drip down the sides.
I said according to my recipe, you put it on a slow bake.
According to my recipe, you put it on a slow bake.

I am watching it drip down the sides.
(If you want a better batter, better beat it harder)
I am watching it drip down the sides.
I said according to my recipe, you put it on a slow bake.
(Takes a long time for it to rise)
According to my recipe, you put it on a slow bake.
(Let it drip right down the sides)
According to my recipe.
(Who cares)
I can't wait to put the icing on the cake.
I, I can't wait to put the icing on the cake.
Caaaake.

Hey, you know what I'd really like to do?
Say wha'?
I feel like makin' a cake.
Oh wah, what kind of cake do you want?
Umm, how about ... pineapple upside-down cake?
Maybe a chocolate devil's food cake?
Wah, nothin' like a chocolate devil's food cake.
Oh, how about an angel cake?
Umm, some cinnamon?
Yeah, sure.
Sugar?
Yeah, uh huh. I swear.
You got a pan the right size?
A pan?
It says, in this cookbook, it takes a long time to rise.
I read that. Now, beware.
Let's get this thing in the oven.

Take a little, take a little nip.
Take a little sip, take a little more.
Spread icing nice and thick between the layers.
Oh, let it drip down the sides. Who cares?
Done with the batter.

I am watching it drip down the sides.
(If you want a better batter, better beat it harder)
I am watching it drip down the sides.
I said according to my recipe
You put it on a slow bake
According to my recipe
You put it on a slow bake
Hah! hah! hah! hah! hah! hah! hah! hah! hah...
I can't wait to put the icing on the cake
Hah! hah! hah! hah! hah! hah! hah! hah! hah...
Two hundred-fifty strokes to beat it, I just can't wait to eat it

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
