Back to the Rocking Horse Lyrics

Like this
All the king's horses
And all the king's men
Ain't got a hope in hell
Of puttin' my pieces back together again

I've seen things in my life that should never be seen
I'm talkin' things that'd make your skin crawl
I wanna go back to a simpler time
Where nothin' really mattered at all

You see, I can't sleep all night long
Tossin' and a-turnin'
thoughts they keep a-churnin'
I can't sleep all night long
As a matter of fact
I just wanna get back

Chorus:
Back to the rockin' horse
Back to where it all began
Take me back-back to the rockin' horse
And start all over again

My parents think I'm crazy
And the doctor says I cracked
But they don't understand me
Cause I just wanna go back

You see I can't sleep all night long
Tossin' and a-turnin
Thoughts they keep a-churnin'
I can't sleep all night long
As a matter of fact
I just wanna get back

Chorus

I think it's about masturbating. Ever read the short story, "The Rocking Horse Winner"? A Rocking Horse was used as a metaphor for it in that story. Tossing and turning, thoughts keep churning? It seems pretty obvious.

Its pretty obvious it has more to do with reflecting back on an earlier time in ones life and wishing life were like that again where things seemed simpler, as opposed to of all things - masterbation. Just because you read a story about masterbation and it had "rocking horse" in the title doesnt mean thats what this song is about. I think you're reading a little too much into the "Tossin and turning, thoughts keep churning" lyrics. The rocking horse represents youth and innocence, "a simpler time where nothing really mattered at all." NOT masterbation, ya sick perv.

It's a reflection-song about how life sucks when you grow up. Life was way better when he was an innocent child and he misses it and he would give everything to get back to those times when nothing really mattered at all. There's nothing to be interpreted in this song. I wonder what the guy of the "masturbating comment" has in his mind to see masturbation in this song.
