Monday Morning Lyrics

Monday morning you sure look fine
Friday i got travelin' on my mind
First you love me and then you fade away
I can't go on believin' this way
I got nothing but love for you
Tell me what you really wanna do
First you love me then you get on down the line
But i don't mind
I don't mind

CHORUS:
I'll be there if you want me to
No one else that could ever do
Got to get some peace in my mind

Monday morning you sure look fine
Friday i got travelin' on my mind
First you love me and then you say it's wrong
You know i can't go on believin' for long
But you know it's true
You only want me when I get over you
First you love me and then you get on down the line
But i don't mind
No, i don't mind

(repeat chorus)

But you know it's true
You only want me when I get over you
First you love me and then you get on down the line
But i don't mind
No, i don't mind

(repeat chorus)

I imagine this was written back when Lindsey & Stevie were still struggling. He'd go off to play guitar for pay, while she stayed home and waited tables to pay the bills, prolly pissed as hell at being left out of the action.

Stevie's view: "What the hell am I doing waiting tables while you go off and play? I'm supposed to be a star!" Lindsey: "Hey, I love you and I'm doing everything I can to get both of us there!" Hence, this song.

The harmonies on this song create goose-bumps, and I think it's a perfect first track.

why has no one commented on this awesome song yet? anyway i think its about a guy thats always waitin on this girl, but the lyrics are pretty self explantory really. kinda story of my life at the moment, but roles reversed. im the girl but im gettin screwed over. not that any of you care...

I thought it was about the inverse (a girl waiting for a guy). The lead singer sounds feminine (is it Lindsey?).

it is lindsay buckingham singing this song. lindsay's a dude.

Yea, agreed that this song is awesome, and also wondering why no one else has commented. Perhaps too obscure, although I did just hear it on a classic rock radio station the other day because this song is being included in the new "Rumours" 35th anniversary edition re-release. However the track is from the 1975 "Fleetwood Mac" album. Anyway - also agreed this song is self-explanatory. He's all about her, and she likes him, but likes to keep him just out of reach. She just wants the attention - given in the the line "But...

There isn't another song to hand that captures womens light moodiness. I'll just float here and there, I love you, now I don't.

'You must respect my viewpoints.'
