Little Lies Lyrics

If I could turn the page
In time then I'd rearrange just a day or two
Close my, close my, close my eyes

But I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to belive in you
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you can't disguise
(You can't disguise, no you can't disguise)
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

Although I'm not making plans
I hope that you understand there's a reason why
Close your, close your, close your eyes

No more broken hearts
We're better off apart let's give it a try
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you can't disguise
(You can't disguise, no you can't disguise)
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

If I could turn the page
In time then I'd rearrange just a day or two
Close my, close my, close my eyes

But I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to belive in you
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you can't disguise
(You can't disguise, no you can't disguise)

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you can't disguise
(You can't disguise, no you can't disguise)
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me, tell me lies)

If anyone has ever suffered from unrequited love, they would understand the meaning of this song. Sometimes there is no balance in a love relationship. Someone leaves to be with someone new, leaving behind a broken heart.

The broken hearted's greatest desire is to hear the sweet little lie, "I love you," coming from the others lips.

Without that sweet little lie, he/she is forever in limbo, loving someone who does not, will not, and cannot love them back.

Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies.

He's untrue; she loves him but can't take the heartache of knowing. She's asking him to successfully deceive her. She knows it must end, but begs him to join her in procrastinating because when it's good, it's intoxicating.

Yeah aren't Stevie Nicks' only contributions "Tell me lies" and "You can't diguise" in the chorus?

So I guess this song as about a girl that has to break up with a guy, but just doesn't want to. So she just wants her man to tell her lies to convince her to stay, which goes against her rationality.

what in the world? .."i wish stevie nicks was my mom" ?! such a character you are :D.

i'm in love with fleetwood mac and especially their beautiful gypsy-dancing woman so of course i like this song. that and the idea that she wants so bad for the relationship to be something better than it is expresses everybody's eventual desire for their own relationship. love it. <3

Okay Great song. This is what I have to say about it: I may be WAY off the mark however I believe its about a girl who wants to break up with boyfriend. They both know its for the best that they break up. She wants him to lie to her and tell her that they should be together. they "can't discuise" the fact that they really need to break up. They're better off apart but they still love eachother. Funny.... this is one of my ex's favorite songs... He told me many lies... Like that he loved me. Loser.

I could also agree with this persons interpretation of the song. Anyway you see it, this is not about a good relationship but one that has suffered through being taken advantage of, abused, maybe cheated on.

Again, another song about negative bonds from Fleetwood Mac. The song "The Chain", says it all.

I see it as a simple break down in a relationship (could be numerous reasons for that break down ... leaves it quite open IMO). The narrator wishes to take back some times (rearrange the pages) and then wants to believe that if those times were "erased" then they could be together still. However ultimately knows that that can never be (tell me lies).

He's not talking to her and doesn't get people usually have a normal and human desire for social connection and interaction. So she's asking for whatever kind of interaction, even a lie. I'd say it's human that if you don't have a significant other to talk about something relevant to you, you look for the closest person to that as a substitute, like a friend, as you'd look for a lie or an argument rather than no interaction or the truth. I personally feel the same about social media: in my opinion it's a 1% connection compared with having a dinner to chat with a friend; but clearly a lot of people prefer that rather than the full connection or no connection (and need to show off and share and being only distant to avoid what others consider basic interaction). Or maybe people can't be selfless enough to understand that a situation that is comfortable for one may be incredibly uncomfortable for the other, and the other is tired of being the one who has to struggle to cover the gap, like it's given right of the other to do almost nothing in their relationship and not even trying to do smt.

LIe to me and tell me you don't want to be with me... I know you do, but we are not good together

She is saying the relationship is going no where and would like just one day that he lied to her and told her he loved her.
