Six bearded presidents, all of them forgotten
Now make high school students think that history is rotten
Mark T. dubbed this era, 1870 to 90
The Gilded Age, a phrase that stuck, and now it seems to bind me
Gilded, also known as deceptively attractive
This time period sucked, anything good was short lived
Occasionally a law was passed, a bill was enacted
But then it would be ruined when the other side reacted
