Kiss That Frog Lyrics

Jump in the water....

Sweet little princess, let me introduce his frogness
You alone can get him singing,
He's all puffed up, wanna be your king

Oh you can do it, c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon
Lady kiss that frog

Splash, dash, heard your call,
Bring you back your golden ball
He's gonna dive down in the deep end
He's gonna be just like your best friend

So what's one little kiss, one tiny little touch?
Aah, he's wanting it so much

I swear that this is royal blood, running through my skin
Oh, can you see the state I'm in

Kiss it better, kiss it better

Get it into your head
He's living with you he sleeps in your bed
Can't you hear beyond the croaking
Don't you know that I'm not joking

Aah, you think you won't, I think you will
Don't you know that this tongue can kill

C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon
Lady kiss that frog

Let him sit beside you, eat right off your plate
You don't have to be afraid, there's nothing here to hate
Princess, you might like it, if you lowered your defence
Kiss that frog, and you will get your prince...

Jump in the water, c'mon baby jump in with me
Jump in the water, c'mon baby get wet, get wet, get wet
Kiss that frog, lady kiss that frog
Get wet, get wet

It's that deliberately ambiguous. So it really seems to be about oral sex.

Yeah, it's about oral sex :) I'd like to believe that anyway:) And it's a great track. It's creative with a good beat...and subject matter, of coure! Not a big Gabriel fan, but I love this song.

I've heard the argument about the song meaning oral sex before, and I certainly think you can take it that way, however, many of his songs reach back to more archetypal themes. The Frog Prince and Beauty and the Beast both illustrate the different perceptions of the sexes, but also that once love enters the picture, our perceptions change--the frog is now a prince, the beast is now a man.

I'm not sure about the "oral sex" idea, but this is definatly an odd song, lyrically anyways.

based on the theme of the Us album (one of the greatest albums ever haha), i would say that this album is about the fundamental differences between people, specifically between the sexes...and how that no matter how well we get along, there are always those differences, and to certain people, those differences can ruin a relationship...

I saw in an interview once that this song is actually about a young girl coming to terms with her own sexuality. Thus, the "frog" isn't supposed to represent a person so much as some part of herself.

I think that this song can pertain to more than just a sexual meaning. I interpret it as more of a, "come on, give that guy a chance" song. But that's just me. Like all great songs, it's open to interpretation.

This song, to me, is about a lad (the frog) who turns into a handsome prince. He whispers sweet nothings into her ear, has sex with her, then turns back into a frog. The video demonstrates this. I suppose the fundamental truth is that most lads are interested in one thing and when once they get it they'll dump her - turning back into the frog!

"Don't judge a book by its cover."

She thinks he's as unattractive as a frog, but he begs to differ. Allow me, he says, to show you the real me.

When Gabriel wrote this song, I guess, he must have had felt ugly/unwanted ... like that frog.

I don't think this song has a clear literal meaning so much as a set of ideas. Central among these, I think, is the fact that you'll probably have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince, but people can surprise you and love can be found in the places you least expect it.

Also, I think it deals with the fact that sex can be confusing and scary, and not just the first time. Giving yourself up physically to someone takes a leap of faith and a lot of trust.

Yeah, this song is packed with interesting ideas and imagery.

For gawd's sake guys, it's about a woman performing oral sex on a man! Kind of like Cyndi Lauper's She Bop is about masturbation! Think about the "royal blood running through my skin;" "You alone can get him singing;" "Bring you back your golden ball;" "He's all puffed up;" "He's gonna dive down in the deep end" (ummmm...deep throat); etc." However, there's also references to oral sex FOR HER such as "Get wet, get wet;" "Kiss that frog and you will get your prince;" and "Don't you know that this tongue can kill." PG (how ironic:) created such a fun song with a great beat. I could listen to this 24/7. And yes, it's a real turn on...

I love this song...everything about it..such a turn on: lyrics; vocals; beat; rhythm, etc. It's so sexual and so...well, mouthwatering ;) Sex shouldn't just be about love, it should be about fun. And Gabriel knew how to make a FUN song!
