Eight Miles High Lyrics
Eight miles high and when you touch down
You'll find that it's stranger than known
Signs in the street that say where you're going
Are somewhere just being their own
Nowhere is there warmth to be found
Among those afraid of losing their ground
Rain gray town known for its sound
In places small faces unbound
Round the squares huddled in storms
Some laughing some just shapeless forms
Sidewalk scenes and black limousines
Some living, some standing alone
You'll find that it's stranger than known
Signs in the street that say where you're going
Are somewhere just being their own
Among those afraid of losing their ground
Rain gray town known for its sound
In places small faces unbound
Some laughing some just shapeless forms
Sidewalk scenes and black limousines
Some living, some standing alone

not the Wings. The Byrds. good song.
the performance of this at the pinkpop festival in 1987 is pretty much the best thing that ever happened in music. Without a doubt the most impassioned vocal performance I've ever heard. Mould sounds like he just found out his mum had died or something.
i agree, the pinkpop one is amazing
I second to that, the pinkpop on youtube is the best youtube video I know of!
This is such a great cover and in my opinon better than the original...so much emotion put into it.
The Byrds version blew my mind wide open. The Husker Du version made me cry.
Cover of the Wings song.
Well I look kinda stupid now.
