The Darkest One Lyrics
Come in, come in, come in, come in
from under these darling skies come in
it's warm and it's safe here and almost
harkening
off to a time and place now lost on our
imagination
where you don't complain -but you still
do
and you don't explain-if you want to-
explain
what you believe you say without shame,
'I just do'
to say what you mean you don't mean
what you say
-or you do
where the wild are strong
and the strong are the darkest ones
and you're the darkest one
Come in, come in, come in, come in
from thin and wicked prarie winds, come in
its warm and its safe here and almost
heartening
here in a time and place not lost on our
imagination
where you dont explain-but you still do
and you can complain-if you want to-
complain
where you're real instrumental or supple
or sexy as hell
where you say 'I believe' or say without
shame,
'I cant tell'
where the wild are strong
and the strong are the darkest ones
and you're the darkest one
O' and you're the darkest one
and if thats what you want
O' then you're the darkest one
from under these darling skies come in
it's warm and it's safe here and almost
harkening
off to a time and place now lost on our
imagination
do
and you don't explain-if you want to-
explain
what you believe you say without shame,
'I just do'
to say what you mean you don't mean
what you say
-or you do
and the strong are the darkest ones
and you're the darkest one
from thin and wicked prarie winds, come in
its warm and its safe here and almost
heartening
here in a time and place not lost on our
imagination
and you can complain-if you want to-
complain
where you're real instrumental or supple
or sexy as hell
where you say 'I believe' or say without
shame,
'I cant tell'
and the strong are the darkest ones
and you're the darkest one
O' and you're the darkest one
and if thats what you want
O' then you're the darkest one

What could be better? The Hip, Don Cherry and the Trailer Park Boys! Ha Ha, if that isn't a slice of Canadiana I don't know what is.
Seriously though, if you haven't seen the Trailer Park Boys you should try to d/l it. It's not for everyone, but i thinks it's hilarious
Trailerpark Boys should be everyone. I find it unbelievable no station in the U.S. shows atleast repeats. It's pure genius.
It's smart stupid comedy. Hopefully someone gets what I mean by that.
yes he is, along with the cast of Trailor Park Boys. And if you haven't seen that, d/l it! It's so terrible, it's good.
This info comes from http://www.thehip.com "The Darkest One" This song takes place in a seemingly mythical place past/present/future where.... Where you can do whatever you want and be whatever you want to be. Including the worst... Its a sorta darker charter of rights and freedoms.
Is that Don Cherry in the video?
Yeah, I thinks it's him
Yeah, I thinks it's him
"Gords gonna get us come chicken if we steal him a motor!" "How much chicken?" "ONE BUCKET!" One of my favourite Tragically Hip vidoes for sure, and a great tune.
this is my favorite song by the tragically hip and i just randomly downloaded it. I just recently bought the cd.
"where the wild are strong and the strong are the darkest ones" This is so true.
