Virtual World Lyrics

See the water break my hand
No one knows my name
I'm not in demand

Signs are right
The signs are here
Who needs virtual world
When I can see it now
I can see it now, oh now, oh now, now

No one goes, no one cares
No one seen it anywhere

She's breathing light into lone dead stars
Have you ever seen it
I ain't seen nothing at all

Come see the water break my fall
No one knows, no one comes
Have you ever seen the book?
The one on my help
The one entitled self death, self death
How to earn a million pounds
I can see it now oh the hearse

She's breathing down in a hole in my head
In the dirty half light were
Time means nothing at all

I'm calling out to some one
Anyone who'll have me?
Does anyone need me?
Does anyone know how to cry?
What happens when I go?
What happens when it snows?
I bet you could if you wanted to end

GREAT LYRICS Sums up how I feel sometimes around my friends

"I'm calling out to some one Anyone who'll have me? Does anyone need me?"

The whole song is just about getting out of reality, and living your dreams, your "Virtual World"

"No one knows my name I'm not in demand" i think we all know that feeling right? "Signs are right, The signs are here, Who needs virtual world, When I can see it now, I can see it now, oh now, oh now, now" I think this is Ashcroft's personality telling us "hey we can change and do something about this, we can be noticed" so he's asking "who needs Virtual World?" cause he can see it now, so why can't you? "No one goes no one cares, No one seen it anywhere" pretty much saying he's displeased with everyone cause they won't see things the way he sees them, no one cares. "She's breathing life into lonely dead stars, Have you ever seen it, I ain't seen nothing at all" Obviously this about a girl who helps others that are lonely and lost and he's wondering why she hasn't helped him cause he's just not seeing it. A lot of Verve songs have that drug feel as well as depressive side to them and I definitely feel this is one of them.

Its really tough for me to sit here and analyze this song as a whole cause i think you just gotta interpret it line by line. That being said I simply just think this song is about Ashcroft's own "Virtual World" which is something we all have and I also think it's about some girl whose right there in this world that he lives in, yet it seems like he doesn't really give two shits about her haha just read the chorus if you don't believe me. One of my favorite Verve songs, I listen to it every morning I drive to work at about 5:45 AM and for some reason it just comforts me. Long live the Verve!
