I close my eyes
Only for a moment, and the moment's gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes, a curiosity

Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind

Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see

Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Oh

Now, don't hang on
Nothin' lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy

Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
(All we are is dust in the wind)
Dust in the wind
(Everything is dust in the wind)
Everything is dust in the wind
The wind

My InterpretationOne of my favourite songs, gets me so emotional. This song is all about how small our lives are in the grand scheme of things. Everyday we are preoccupied with our own lives and our petty problems but we are blind to the fact that we are so insignificant in comparison to Earth and the rest of the Universe. The vocals have a sort of sad but humble sound, outlining the theme of the song.
“All we are is dust in the wind”, impacted and moved by forces far greater than us.
