To Roads To Go, To Roads To Go Lyrics

I'm runnin' water through,
I'm runnin' water through my mind

I'm runnin' water through,
I'm runnin' water through my mind

Nothing but shops
and roads to go to roads in America
All's best forgot, and it's easy
when you try and remember everything you've come across

Can't turn nothin' off
for the fear that you'll be alone with your own thoughts

I'm runnin' water through,
I'm runnin' water through my mind

I'm runnin' water through,
I'm runnin' water through my mind

Nothing but shops
and roads to go to roads in America
All's best forgot,
and it's easy
when you try and remember everything that you've come across

Can't turn nothing off
for the fear that you'll be alone with your own thoughts

It was grey and there was no sunset
She said she liked it when you spoke in Spanish,
it reminds her of sex

It was grey and it felt flat
She said it leaves me feelin' flat
I said, "Why don't you speak in Spanish?
Why the fuck don't you speak in Spanish, then?"

yeah this is a great song, i think its just about pleading ignorance to what is around you, or since the lyrics are by isaac brock it could be about anything

i think that it's about washing your mind clean of all the bad and awful feeling that you were feeling. then you realize that- now you just feel empty. and thats not good either. at the very end i think he's trying to help someone else with the same feeling of emptiness. it seems so easy. "why don't you just speak in spanish?"

What I think this song is about is most likely wrong, but i'll give it a shot. anyhow, so the guy is simply trying to forget everything, and change his ways "i'm runnin' water through my mind"

and the whole deal with the girl and speaking spanish is due to the fact that she misses the man he used to be. and he makes a smart remark, "why don't you speak in spanish?" to reflect it back at her.

"I'm runnin' water through my mind" -He wants to cleanse his mind of all the bullshit around him

"Nothing but shops and roads to go to roads in America All's best forgot, and it's easy when you try and remember everything you've come across" -Driving through America, he looks around and sees a lot of meaningless things, nothing worth remembering

"Can't turn nothin' off for the fear that you'll be alone with your own thoughts" -This is referring to technology, how we've always got to have the TV on or something going on, because we don't want to be left to think about things.

"It was grey and there was no sunset She said she liked it when you spoke in Spanish, it reminds her of sex It was grey and it felt flat She said it leaves me feelin' flat I said, 'Why don't you speak in Spanish? Why the fuck don't you speak in Spanish, then?' " -He's feeling irritable and bitter towards this girl, probably because he's trying to reflect and clear out his mind.
