I love this version, it's an angrier, more aggressive version of Closer. I like the different chorus "I wanna fuck you, I wanna taste you, etc." most of all ^_^

I don't really think the song is Gay or Otherwise. I think it speaks of a Man, trying to find a way to connect on a human level with someone, anyone and cannot seem to get there. In his desperation he tears himself down, until he is just his core being, a raged animal that can only vent his frustration through sexual desires. He is screaming in rage, because he thinks if he can find one true contact in his life, that can make him feel something, that he would feel closer to God. He feels inhuman and unworthy and alone.

Um Closer to God means that he wishes to escape from himself and become someone else thus getting closer to God via sex.

Well, through my eyes, all the meaning in this song is, sin, lust and religion. Which makes it one of the best NIN classics.

I heard this song on the CD by the same name, which has six versions of Closer...basically the same words in a different order, with different beats, and him singing the words differently. Thus making it a freaking awesome CD.

I really like this song as well because I think it has more feeling than Closer...just the way he sings it.

Closer was dark... this is more beaty... like, you could dance to this, and not Closer. This is more asthetic, and a bit happier while Closer is a bit more of a cry for help. I don't believe he's atheist (and that IS anti - christian) OR agnostic (simple absence of faith...) Either way, Trent is amazing.
