Mustang Sally Lyrics
Mustang Sally, think you better slow your mustang down.
Mustang Sally, think you better slow your mustang down.
You been running all over the town now.
Oh! I guess I'll have to put your flat feet on the ground.
All you want to do is ride around Sally, ride, Sally, ride.
All you want to do is ride around Sally, ride, Sally, ride.
All you want to do is ride around Sally, ride, Sally, ride.
One of these early mornings, oh, you gonna be wiping your weeping eyes.
I bought you a brand new mustang 'bout nineteen sixty five
Now you come around signifying a woman, you don't wanna let me ride.
Mustang Sally, think you better slow your mustang down.
You been running all over the town now.
Oh! I guess I'll have to put your flat feet on the ground.
All you want to do is ride around Sally, ride, Sally, ride.

no one has commented? what a great song...sort of!
its really about a car. the mustang was popular at the time this song was written. A broad behind the wheel of one gave the impression she was wild. she's running around town with it and he's not invited to ride along. (aka he's not invited for fast times on the road and in bed)
Sir Mack Rice's song was about his drummer friend's desire to be bought a 1965 Mustang by Della Reece for whom he was playing. The joke was that the drummer was unambitious (flat-footed) as others in the band desired bigger and more practical cars like Cadillacs . Rice teased the drummer with a nursery rhyme: "Little Sally Walker sitting in a saucer,Ride, Sally, ride!". The song was based on the rhyme .
This song freakin' rocks!
this song is fk'n awesome
we think this song is about some whore going around the town fucking all these guys and the part about "i bought you a brand new mustang "bout nineteen sixtey five"" thats when sex was introduced into her life, so in other words she is a slut!!!!!!!!!! what do you people think? am i close
@marijuana420 You're nuts! This is a song about a guy who buys his girlfiend a new car ... and then she tells him she's too busy to come by and see him when he calls her, because she's riding all of her friends around in her new car.

“Mustang Sally” began as “Mustang Mama,” which he was inspired to write by the newly introduced Ford Mustang sports car. It was Aretha Franklin, the pianist on Mr. Rice’s demo of the song, who persuaded him to rename it.
Very simple. The song is about sex.....and Sally's reluctance to supply it as a reward for the guy giving her a snappy new set of wheels! And, because he gave her those wheels.....she's always somewhere else!
That's what makes the song great. The subject matter is delivered in minimal lyrics clad in enough euphemism to get played it on the radio. A terrific groove, and a rousing chorus.
For some reason girls love this song. And the more drunk they are.....the more they love it! Why? Is it the empowerment (Sally's got the upper hand)? Is it just the opportunity to bawl out the chorus in unison but out of tune? Who knows....but it's a winner.
Its about a slut. replace the word 'mustang' with 'sex' and read through it. Pretty obvious i thought.
