Just Like Henry Lyrics
hi, it's been a while
your friendly smile has lost its charming glimmer
why is it a crime? you're free to try, you'll get what coming to you.
you might let your guard down, henry.
my, look at the prize.
this could be nice
you're covered all your bases
climb before you hide then pull your pride, this could be waiting for you.
i go back to zero henry
i see what you think you saw.
when you pass me in the hall, i was
there you go you're getting over, tap that old friend on the shoulder
henry finds from leaving empty.
lose your mind, you're just like henry
let's go back to zero henry
let's see what you think you saw
when you pass me in the hall, i was
there you go you're name is older, tap that old friend on the shoulder
penny finds for leaving empty
lose you're mind, you're just like henry
your friendly smile has lost its charming glimmer
why is it a crime? you're free to try, you'll get what coming to you.

this song is so damned catchy. you can't help put love it.
The whole album is damn catchy.
What Does It Mean Tho, What Is The Story
This song rips, so infectiously catchy, interesting to research it and not find much, so I'll try to contribute. This song was in But I'm a Cheerleader, a v cute 90s gay romcom about people in conversational therapy trying and failing to fit into the dominant straight culture. it was used in a montage of the main couple finding love in each other :p
the song is great for teen romance because it evokes a high school setting, ("in the hall"), i think its about the narrator helping someone find the courage/confidence to tell that narrator how they feel, its talks about connecting in the past and what the other person is missing when they dont spill their beans, its encouraging, romantic, honest, all of the things that the really amazing instrumentation implies.
for musicians, key is g, the main progression is I-iv-I-IV-I-iv-IV-V, and i think they're just hanging on the IV for the bridge/build up. working out the melodies, though i'm pretty sure its a melodica in the recording.
