Jupiter Island Lyrics

Jupiter Island is full of pleasures
Glowing gardens holding hidden treasures
Luminous flowers of yellows and greens
Glittering petals that have to be seen
Here's your chance don't let it pass you by
Take my hand and we'll fly

Jupiter Island is surrounded by oceans
Majestic ballerinas with graceful motions
Magenta forests on a crimson sea
The electric clouds ar as vivid as can be
Scarlet moons in a domino sky
Take my hand and we'll fly

Come on let's fly to Jupiter Island
Just take my hand and we'll fly

Jupiter Island is full of mountains
Ruby rivers and sapphire fountains
Chessboard lawns bible black and white
The pink and blue trees are incredibly bright
An orange sunset painted on the sky
Take my hand and we'll fly

Jupiter Island is full of people
But you can't see them unless you want to
Lying in the hay on a hot sunny day
Everyone's happy so no-one's gay
Laughter from the children dances way on high
Take my hand and we'll fly

Jupiter Island is full of meadows
Fertile pastures for growing rainbows
Illuminated portraits from strange orchestrations
Lost in a collage of its own creations
Never a chance to wave goodbye
Take my hand and we'll fly

I think most of Porcupine Tree's songs make more sense if you're high...

This is about a paradise - not necessarily an acid trip. Everybody views paradise differently, and the lines "Jupiter Island is full of people/But you can't see them unless you want to" is an example of people being where they want to be. There are also stereotypical parts in this song about paradise.

well,it's not necessary about paradise.

"I" think it could easily be addressed to a place you reach after smoking pot

"Glowing gardens holding hidden treasures Luminous flowers of yellows and greens"

and, of course, as I give you this joint you'll be flying with me...

"Here's your chance don't let it pass you by Take my hand and we'll fly"

This is probably the most catchiest song I've ever heard. I had just heard the song once, and I couldn't get the thing out of my mind for about a week. Then I didn't listen to it for months, but I still remembered the chorus and verses perfectly. Now that's catchiness. Oh and yes, I have so many memories of the weekend I first heard this song. It just happened to be on an island, and much fun was had. Bottom line is, Jupiter Island kicks my ass.

when i first heard this song i was quite surprised since it's not much like songs that belong to following album.. it sounds more like a (like tabuckt said) "catchy" pop song (^^ i love it anyway) stevens whole attitude seems to have changing during the last 20 years.. i've never heard such a happy pt song.especially the latest songs messages are kind of depressing.i'd really like to know more about the album tarquins seaweed farm and its origin.. even the song titles confuse me (message from a self destructive turnip..?) does anyone know more about this album? if so i'd be glad to get some responses. thanks in advance!! cya debs

I think this song is a kind of day dream about a far off place. "Jupiter Island is full of people But you can't see them unless you want to" mabey points towads "jupiter island" as somones imaginary "special" place. This song is incredably catchy, i almost get the idea that it was written to be a radio single, its not really like other songs on the album.

Lying in the hay on a hot sunny day Everyone's happy so no-one's gay

most of the song seems to be carefree except this line, which really stuck out to me.

Linton Samuel Dawson and Jupiter Island seem to go hand in hand...they have the same kind of sound and weird trippy lyrics. Bearing in mind that Linton Samuel Dawson spells out LSD, I think that Jupiter Island kind of describes a trip. Also, in Footprints, there are references to The Beatles' Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds [tangerine trees and marmalade skies, etc...] Again. LSD. I think its all about the drugs =]

THis album was mainly a fake release for PT, If you listen to the entire album of On the Sunday of Life, its completely different from the rest of PT other works. This was Wilsons fun album, kind of 60's style, trippy with common meanings. I read online that he had a fake band profile, and a different back story for himself, only reinforcing that this album was sort of a joke to them. After it was over, PT got serious. Thats the info ive gathered. But this song is indeed about paradise.
