Jenny Come On Lyrics

jenny bought a brand new dress
she wore on the day we went for soda (come on, na na come on)
everywhere that jenny walks all the boys make sure they walk beside her
jenny bought a brand new dress, it's pretty and she bought it for a dollar.
dress it up she put it on a silver pin was hanging from her collar

oh no i think we're older
come on jenny come on, come on jenny come on
knock that chip off your shoulder
come on jenny come on, come on jenny come on

jenny bought a brand new hat
she wore it on the day we went for
anytime that jenny winks all the girls make sure they wink behind her
jenny says it's not so great, she's going on another date, she's gorgeous.
anytime that jenny sings look at all the pretty things before her

oh no i think we're older
come on jenny come on, come on jenny come on
knock that chip off your shoulder
come on jenny come on, come on jenny come on

i think this song is about that girl that's practically perfect in anyway, that is so perfect that no one can hate her, so perfect she doesn't even notice, & yet she's still intimidating to be around. "jenny says it's not so great, she's going on another date, she's gorgeous." says to me that so many boys have crushes on her that she finds it tedious, but all of the other girls can't get past how pretty & lucky she is. it's a happy song, but always kinda had that undertone of inferiority to me.
