Bruise Violet Lyrics
you got this thing that really makes me hot
you got a lot and more when you got caught
you got this thing that follows me around
you fucking bitch, i hope your insides rot
liar
liar
liar
you see that stars through eyes lit up with lies
you got your stories all twisted up in mine
you were born with glue instead of spine
of thee i sing, tied to a string
bruise violet
you got a lot and more when you got caught
you got this thing that follows me around
you fucking bitch, i hope your insides rot
liar
liar
you got your stories all twisted up in mine
you were born with glue instead of spine

Courtney Love and the Kinderwhore controversy
Love and Bjelland have had a long and complex relationship. They are sometimes referred to as "friends/enemies." In 1992, Bjelland accused Love of stealing the Kinderwhore look, which was marked by a combination of lacy lingerie and school girl clothing. Bjelland and Love eventually made amends. Bjelland collaborated with Love on the track "I Think That I Would Die" on Hole's second album, Live Through This. In a recent interview, Bjelland was asked if the song "Bruise Violet" was written about Courtney Love. Her response was no, and that "Violet" was a muse that both she and Love wrote about.

Kat has said it's not about Courtney
This song rocks. Grunge girl, I have, Katastrophy Wife is great :D
really? i thought that kat and courtney were really good friends? they were at the time of kurt's death atleast..that what i had got from what i'd read. shrugs
good song, though
Not sure about the Courtney Love thing...as far as I know, Courtney and Kat were good friends, and were in several bands together before going there separate ways. And as for the title being a reference to the Hole song Violet, I'm pretty sure the Babes in Toyland song was written before Hole's Violet was even released.
Kat had a media blackout because Courtney basically stole all her ideas.... so I don't consider them to be "good friends."... :p

i don't care what the relationship between kat and courtney was (even though courtney's the best ever) this is still a fantastic song.
Yeah, this song is about Courtney Love. And actually I think Hole's Violet was written before Bruise Violet because Hole's Violet actually dates back from 1991. Anyway, Hole's Violet is about Billy Corgan and these two songs have nothing to do with each other. Bruise Violet is about how Courtney stole Kat's 'kinderwhore' image (babydoll dresses, Mary Jane shoes, barrettes, etc) and probably about other things that Kat couldn't stand about Courtney. She has already said that Courtney lies compulsively (Liar, Liar, Liar). The two had a love/hate friendship but I don't think they've spoke for a long time. Obviously they hang out in different circles now.
this song was babes at their best. Although spanking machine was kool too. Nemesisters was very unique and different from their past albums though, thats when the babydoll look died,(but i still like it cause my fashion is stuck in a time warp from the 90's)
P.S.has anyone heard her new band Katastrophy Wife?
this is a song toward courtney love, because they are enemies. and that's why babes in toyland have many random references to "violet" and courtney uses the title violet. kat and courtney used to be in a band together, and they fought over the baby doll look... personally, kat rocks, courtney is just alright.
i just read today that the song "Violet" by Hole is directed at Billy Corgan....so i dont know if it still has something to do with Kat....
no, they were really good friends
