it's our time to shine through the down
glorified by what is ours
we've fallen in love..
we fall in love..
it was the best idea i ever had.

today i fell and felt better
just knowing this matters,
i just feel stronger.. and sharper!
i found a box of sharp objects, what a beautiful thing

today i fell and felt better
just knowing this matters,
i just feel stronger.. and sharper!
i found a box of sharp objects, what a beautiful thing

today i fell and felt better
just knowing this matters,
i just feel stronger.. and sharper!
i found a box of sharp objects, what a beautiful thing

do you want a song of glory?
well i'm fucking screaming at you

it's our time to shine through the down
glorified by what is ours
we've fallen in love..
we fall in love..
it was the best idea i ever had.

today i fell, it felt better
just knowing this matters,
i just feel stronger.. and sharper!
i found a box of sharp objects, what a beautiful thing

Here's a tip, when something is repeated, you don't have to type it out every time.

From their website: "A Box Full Of Sharp Objects" salutes the creative outlet

I can't say I have one definate answer to what this song means, but there's nothing to imply that he mutilated himself... or even that a relationship ended.

I'm assuming he is praising the entrance of people who truly care about him into his life. The sharp opjects could be anything, and based on the hint from the website I would venture to say they could be pens or pencils.

Also, since he has a drug related past, it could be a box full of needles, which haven't been used... thus he feels stronger.

It's really impossible to know for sure without hearing it from the band, and it's the same with most lryics.

okay, I think considering Bert's past (with drugs) this song is probably about getting clean. when he says "fallen in love" I think he could be referring to the drugs and how he became addicted. "today I fell and felt better, just knowing this matters" I think by that he means, well...the drugs had created a numb world for him and now he is getting clean and regaining feeling. Its like he's saying he fell, and the pain was actually refreshing compared to not feeling anything when you're on drugs. "I just feel stronger and sharper!" that one is obvious, he is proud of himself and what he's accomplished by getting off drugs. Now, I think someone already made this point--and I just absolutely agree, when he says "found a box of sharp objects. what a beautiful thing!" He is talking about the un-used needles (drugs, duh).

That is my best interpretation of the song, hope I'm right or at least close, lol. :P

"That song, for me, is about drugs and alcohol and loss and love," rambled McCracken. "It's about being proud of who you are, being proud of your situation and just being stoked that things are always going to get better or always gonna get worse and that's such a great thing. Every day is a new surprise."

Yeah this song and band is awesome. Pretty much I think this song is about a break up, of course. He feels better and wiser now after the incident. Perhaps the "box of sharp objects" refers to you know how you felt you been stabbed or scared because of this break up. Now all that pain is a "beautiful thing." He feels "stronger and sharper."

I think this song means, Even though love was good for a while. It began to hurt and so he resorted to self mutalation or cutting to relieve his pain.

not sure what it means but i think the best lines in the song are

"it's our time to shine through the down glorified by what is ours we've fallen in love.. we fall in love.. it was the best idea i ever had."

i think the song definately was meant to be taken as something dealing with self mutilation...the feeling "down" before and the up-time afterward when everything is back to normal or alright. i also think it's to be taken as...well something else. there's always two sides to things and i definately think there's more of and underlying meaning since that's the beauty of poetry. i basically said what everybody else already said, but i thought i'd throw my two cents in. awesome song and band!!

This song kind of reminds me of a Taproot song with the calm singing and then throwing in the screaming every now and then. Kick ass song

It seems to me that he's singing about actually being in love, and enjoying it. The box of sharp objects is love, and all it entails, good and bad. But, the good outweighs that. Maybe I'm dumb, and just tkae songs at face value, but, that's what it sems to me.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
