Falling Unknown Lyrics

With the wind at your back and in your eyes,
the freeze of your blindness will show

Under the cloud cover, the flares signal change
Will you ever know?

The fields they are burning, the smoke chokes your breath
Will you stand or run?

You dream of a mountain, the peaks rise to the sky
Will you answer its call?

Is your heart still beating? Can you feel this at all?
This lanside will bury us all!

With the storm in your mind and the clouds in your eyes
Will you survive?

Lie and wait, I will lie awake

Falling through a world unknown

This song, along with Opeth's "Dirge For November" and Agalloch's "In the Shadow of our Pale Companion" is one of the three greatest songs ever. Id recommend this song to anyone who appreciates MUSIC. I first heard it half asleep..... it was incredible.....

since then the other 2 songs ive mentioned have lost a bit of their power to me and have been replaced, but this song still remains. Neurosis are without a doubt the best band on the planet

This song, i believe, retakes the subject started on the piece "A Sun that Never Sets", in a slightly different approach, in order to take the subject a little further "up the road".

It means you cannot see where life takes you until you stumble upon it, suddenly, you have no chance to control, and so you're falling through a strange existance.

So, in a certain way, all you can do is "Lie and wait..."

It's about being happy and then being in trouble wrote in a great way. The narrator describe someone who is unaware the troubles that waits for him.
