Notorious Lyrics
No-no-notorious
No-no-notorious
I can't read about it, burns the skin from your eyes
I'll do fine without it, here's one you don't compromise
Lies come hardly disguised
Betting me to fight it out, not wild about it
Spare your seedy judgments, who says they're part of our lives?
You own the money, you control the witness
I hear you're lonely, don't monkey with my business
You pay the profits to justify your reasons
I heard your promise but I don't believe it
That's why I've done it again
No-no-notorious
Girls will keep the secrets, so long as boys make the noise
Fools run rings to break up, something they'll never destroy
Grand notorious slam, bam, and who really gives a damn
For a flaky bandit?
Don't ask me to bleed about it, I need this blood to survive
You own the money, you control the witness
I hear you're lonely, don't monkey with my business
You pay the profits to justify your reasons
I heard your promise but I don't believe it
That's why I've done it again

sometimes i doubt your commitment to sparkle motion.
It's about the media's cruelty to Duran.
"I can't read about it burns the skin from your eyes."
Can't even read about the rubbish being said about them.
"Lay your seedy judgements who says they're part of our lives?"
Who says the media's shallow opinions comes with being a celebrity? the price of fame.
"you own the money you control the witness"
The media pay the kiss and tell girl or whoever to seel them out.
"I hear you're lonely don't monkey with my business"
They're nosey because they're lonely.
I love this. Where would rap be without 80s pop?
hear the first .5 seconds of this song and you jump on the dancefloor, no matter where you are and what you're doing this song is drop all dance party. and when you're getting sampled by biggie and used in donnie darko, you know you made the people dance
I LOVE THIS SONG BECAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF THE BEST MOVIE EVVVEEERRRR....DONNIE DARKO :- :-
I hate you fucking Donnie Darko fanboys. You've beaten the Boondock Saints fans in annoyance level. Congrats, shit-asses.
That said, this song is great to dance to, as maria pointed out. So is most of Rio, one of the greatest albums to come out of the '80s. As for the meaning of the song, I think it seems to be describing those who are corrupt, greedy, etc. Since it is called "Notorious", it may be referring to the lies, greed, tricks and bad-mouthing that comes with fame.
wow, i see you like les savy fav and neutral milk hotel, ok i don't hate you anymore:)
man on tv = lame
i agree with maria
I first heard this song in Donnie Darko, but I'm not a fucking fanboy/girl so get the hell over it.
Personally, I really like it a lot. It's got an irresistable beat to it. I can't say it better than maria
HungryLikeTheWolf's description of the song sounds perfect. This is song is great :P Ive loved Duran Duran forever, I got all the LPs from my mum. I ALSO happened to hear this song in Donnie Darko, which also let me respect it alot. The music from that movie is great.
