This song is about a troubled character, Jimmy, from the perspective of a woman who sees him as somebody "everyone falls in with". Jimmy sounds to be a reckless man who can't commit to a woman or any responsibilities which "he can't get out from under". His wife is living "somewhere colder", which indicates she too has fallen by the wayside. Jimmy "broke locks and Jimmy broke bolts" doing some petty crime and is headed to prison, most likely. Look into his eyes. They'll rock you like thunder. He's a disturbed individual.

Shawn is definitely the protagonist in this. But she's bounced Jimmy, because as much as she loves him, he's toxic. Everybody falls in love with him. She did, too.
