This is one great guitar song. IMO, I think it's one of the real classic hits ever.

God, this song is definitely one of the greatest songs of rock music's history. And in my opinion, the Van Halen version kicks the **** out of The Kinks'! Oh well, the lyrics are based on the narrator's uncontrollable crush on a girl he loves, sorry for taking so long to point that out! :)

As for Kinks vs Van Halen - they are both great bands, and each version rocks in it's own way. The Kinks version is classic garage rock perfection, and VH is full-blown '70s heavy metal power. Love them both.
The Kinks are my favorite alltime band, but I don't see how some Kinks fans can write off the VH version - Eddie's guitar work made it a classic.

Kinks and Van Halen are both better than the band Train. Can we agree on that?
