Ill In The Head Lyrics

In a desperate mind
Little gardens grow
They grow very wide
They grow very tall

Why am I alive
Urban Wonderland
By the fence I stand
In and out of hand

There are many paths
Dripping dark so dense
Do not enter here
Enter over there

People closing in
Barking at my mind
Shoving me to wine
I want all alone

I want my own home
I want my own girl
Help me hate the world
Own and love my life

And now, 6 1/2 months later, I'm wondering why the fuck I compared this song to Tool. I really have no idea why.

"In a desperate mind Little gardens grow They grow very wide They grow very tall"

The desperate mind is a referance to schizophrenia or someone who is extremely confused as to what they should believe, think, etc. The little gardens are all of these conflicting ideas/beliefs that the person has. Growing very wide and tall basically means that the arguments behind each idea are extremely cogent, which makes them all conflict.

"Why am I alive Urban Wonderland By the fence I stand In and out of hand"

This is the chorus, which is like the persons thoughts. Their torment leads them to ask why they are alive. The urban wonderland, which is like an oxymoron, is kind of like their mind. They stand by the fence, on the hinge of two radically different trains of thought. In and out of hand is like sanity personified, taking the insane persons hand at times (when they are normal) but letting go at others (when they become psychotic).

There are many paths Dripping dark so dense Do not enter here Enter over there

This all relates back to the little gardens. The many paths are the many beliefs the person could take. Dripping dark means that the ideas are all muddled and bastardized (as a nut might see things) and so dense means that everything is extremely convincing. Because all of these conflicted ideas are so convincing, the person doesn't know what to believe. Do not enter here Enter over there is like the highway signs of this persons mind; since everything is so alluring, they have no idea as to what they should believe, as to what is right and what is wrong.

"People closing in Barking at my mind Shoving me to wine I want all alone"

The People closing in Barking at my mind are normal people who torment this person for the insanity of their mind. As a result of this torment, the insane person is shoved to wine, or driven to alcoholism. Wanting it all alone is basically the insane person wanting to be alone and escape the world which torments him.

"I want my own home I want my own girl Help me hate the world Own and love my life "

Wanting my own home and girl is like the insane person wanting to be normal and have a house and a wife like everyone else. He calls on a higher power (god, the voices in his head, etc) to help him hate the world that abuses him and to accept and love his life for what it is.

6025 does actually have schizophrenia and is is now in a mental institution. So I think this song is a very good insight into what having that disorder is like.

It made him Christian first, hmm.

6025... a true genius. Love that snaking Eastern rhythm vibe, kind of like a hardcore, more politicised version of Tool.
