Mudslide Lyrics
There’s a mudslide.
It’s slipping down to cover the hillside.
And you can bet it’s gonna seep into your house, in through your eyes and out your dirty little mouth.
There’s a mudslide.
A mile-wide brown-tide.
A bonafide mudslide.
And what’s the odds that you’re enjoying one right now, from the comfort of your favourite easy-couch?
And the man said “How’m I gonna get my white shirt clean?”
“How’m I gonna get my?”
“How’m I gonna get my?”
“How’m I gonna get my white shirt clean?”
“How’m I gonna get my?”
“How’m I gonna get by?”
There’s a mudslide.
Slipping down to cover the hillside.
The scum’s gonna keep on rising.
It swallows up the sun-shining blue horizon.
And everywhere you look it’s the same disguises.
The lunatics, it seems, run the whole asylum.

I think this song is about inner thoughts and truth. The mudslide represents the drakness and 'dirty thoughts in peoples lives - the man who wants to get his 'white shirts clean' want to kind of 'purify' himself - yet he doesn't know how to do it. 'Enjoying one right now' = 'jerkin off' imo! I like to think the 'lunatics' are politicians (who are genrally a little 'dirtier' than the rest of the public!)
Yeah, I have to agree with butterflykiss84 about this being about dirty thoughts - it's a very clever analogy and has a very catching "chugging" beat to boot. Love it!
'Fraid not - its about consumerism - im quite good interpreting song lyrics but this one had me stumped - so i contacted Mark Morriss himself and asked him!
