Why can't it just be a love song? They have great work that is deep, but you're all just pulling comments out of your asses right now. It's a beautiful song just shut up and enjoy it. :) I get this website is suppose to have people share their ideas, but you've got nothing for this one.

Had a good read and its amazing the interpretations, everybody has their own thoughts. Here's mine.

There's a saying "F*$k you and the Horse you rode in on."

It's trying to get your head around how she's got you so confused about your own feelings that you don't know where you are or who you are anymore.

It is a love song.

Your questioning everything and not being yourself so go along with what she wants as your so enamoured.

I thought this was the meaning back in the 90's when I listened to it but even more so now having been in a relationship where exactly that happened.

Love is Blind and now I look back and I do think, How?? Why?? What?? was I thinking.

well I like the one quote' my well is dipping dry today. I think it would ruin live if they went rock-country, but this is actually my favorite song off Throwing Copper. I don't even think this song fits into the category of rock-country, sure it has those influences but I also think that live created their own kind of genre here for a song, I love it.

I really like this song and cant believe that more people havent made comments onthe song.

i think this song is about a cowboy who falls in love....with a woman.....gets married, has a family and doesnt miss his days being a cowboy one bit.

Live should have done more country-influenced songs like this. I mean, this song is good and so different from so much of their other stuff - what if Live went country-rock?

I feel it is about how sometimes spirituality is not something you have to struggle for.

So much of Ed's lyrics are very poignant and powerful and take some significant energy to share his messages of spirit and love.

This is a realization about how simple is can be. Every moment, even just relaxing with loved ones and friends, and letting all the worry go... being at peace with how the world is?

That easy act is just as important as making a defiant stand against fear.
