Sometimes when this place gets kind of empty
Sound of their breath fades with the light
I think about the loveless fascination
Under the Milky Way tonight

Lower the curtain down on Memphis
Lower the curtain down all right
I got no time for private consultation
Under the Milky Way tonight

Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find

And it's something quite peculiar
Something shimmering and white
Leads you here despite your destination
Under the Milky Way tonight

Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find

And it's something quite peculiar
Something shimmering and white
Leads you here despite your destination
Under the Milky Way tonight

Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find

Under the Milky Way tonight
Under the Milky Way tonight
Under the Milky Way tonight

General CommentI have to agree with tommyrock on this one.Yeah i'm showing my age but the first time I ever slow danced with a girl,I was 12 years old and it was at a roller rink(do they even still have those) this song was playing in the background. Her first name was Kim if I remember correctly, she was taller than me with feathered black hair and I still had a mullet.Hey it was 1988!!Anyway that was the first time I ever heard the song, back when it was new,and it's one of those great memories that makes me miss that childhood innocence.Beautiful song. Can listen to it over and over and never get tired of it,even to this day 20 years later.
