Sick Of Myself Lyrics
Deconstruct me
And consume me
I'm all used up
I'm out of luck
I am starstruck
By something in your eyes that is keeping my hope alive
Something is beautiful and true
In a world that's ugly and a lie
It's hard to even want to try
And I'm beginning to think Baby you don't know
The room to breathe
The choice to leave you
I'll throw away
A chance at greatness
Just to make this
Dream come into play, I don't know if I'll find a way
Something is beautiful and true
In a world that's ugly and a lie
It's hard to even want to try
And I'm beginning to think Baby you don't know
I'm beginning to think Baby you don't know
But I'm sick of myself when I look at you
Something is beautiful and true
In a world that's ugly and a lie
It's hard to even want to try
And I'm beginning to think Baby you don't know
I'm beginning to think Baby you don't know
I love this song. Who here hasn't had a crush on somebody so bad that the person literally made you sick of yourself? It's so universal I'm surprised it wasn't written decades before...
Man, 10 years ago this song would've probably had about 3,000 comments. This is another lost treasure of the 90's
This is the catchiest song about self-loathing you'll ever hear. It's almost shocking yet this song is PURE REDEMPTION. This kind of music validates life.
This is catchiest damn song ever. It makes me bob my head forward. Matthew Sweet is the supreme deity of power pop.
incredible song, surprising more people don't know about it
I don't know if it's on purpose or not, but if you compare the chords to the verses of Bowie's "Queen Bitch" to the verses of "Sick of Myself," it seems like Matthew Sweet took the chords to "Queen Bitch" and moved them down half a step. It's basically the same chords and strum pattern. Anyway, I do have to agree with the sentiment that Sweet is one of the most underrated artists of the '90s.
I hear it too, there's definitely a similarity.

i like this one.....
the song and the Artist go unknown,,,,,,sadly.
Great guitar interplay.....but now he is playing country soft.

awesome song... everything about it is so catchy, the guitar, the lyrics, the way he sings... it's all so damn good
^ ditto, to everyone's comments
