I don't know why, but this song reminds me of my little dog and I sing it to her sometimes. :) But seriously, this song is about unrequited (at first!) love; he adores her enough to wait for her to come around. It's beautiful, touching, and so very melodic.

Absolutely. He's head over heels and waits patiently, hoping that she just might feel the same. We never know if she does, but we certainly hope it all the same!

I'm pretty sure that @SugarFreeShelia and @mindhuntress are correct. The music is too uplifting for my following theory. If you look at the lyrics it could readily be someone proclaiming their love for someone who is dying. There is nothing the singer wouldn't do if he thought it would make her better.
